Match Box

The ramped cleat box offers easy front and rear pedal entry and mud shedding. A Race Zone setback on the cleat track allows the cleat to be positioned further toward the heel for added control and stability when descending.

Match Compound

Our mid-friction rubber compound (MC1) allows for easy pedal entry and exit and is hard enough to hold up to wear and tear. The radial lug pattern around the cleat box is designed to provide smooth release from the pedal body.

Match Outsole

The tread pattern is designed for traction off the bike. Directionally angled and spaced toe and heel lugs offer traction for hiking up or down steep terrain. The ramped toe provides walkability on steep terrain.

"I routinely ride XC and usually wear XC clipless shoes. ACA and NICA race weekends are an incredible experience as a coach, but the long days can be hard on the feet. These shoes greatly reduce foot fatigue when balancing riding and walking. They work great with my SPDs and have great pedal engagement and feel. Highly recommend are a primary shoe or as a backup when comfort comes first."

Plenty stiff to avoid hot

"Plenty stiff to avoid hot spots or sore feet but flexible enough to walk comfortably. Nice hefty shoe strings. Came with 2 pairs, white & purple. Fit is fairly true to size but would have went up half a size if they had been available. All that being said I never notice them while I’m riding so I guess that’s exactly what you want. They work well clipped in and just as solid on flat side of pedals. (I prefer to go unclipped on sandy dirt roads) I can ride either way with confidence. Speedy shipping as well. Ordered on a Friday, received them on Tuesday. I would absolutely buy them again!"

"I’ve been using the Crankbrothers Mallet dh pedals along with the Crankbrothers clip-in MTB shoes for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed. The setup was super easy—cleats were already pre-installed, which saved me time and guesswork. The shoes are comfortable right out of the box. They feel sturdy and well-ventilated, with just the right amount of stiffness for efficient pedaling without sacrificing walkability. The grip is great even when unclipped, especially with the ribbed tread pattern that matches the pedal platform. As for the pedals, the float and release feel very natural—not too tight, not too loose. Clipping in and out is smooth and consistent, even in muddy conditions. I ride a mix of trails, from rocky descents to technical climbs, and this combo has given me way more control and stability. If you're into trail or enduro riding and want a clip-in system that still feels confidence-inspiring and forgiving, I highly recommend this Crankbrothers setup. Worth every penny."
