the brand new 2026 dream bike
The livery of the bike is from a famous and successful Porsche race team called Brumos Racing that started as a car dealer in the late 50's. Brumos was one of the first importers of Porsche in North America and eventually started racing in the mid 60's. In the 70's, the Brumos really became successful, winning some of the most prestigious endurance sports car races like the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. The Dream bike was themed after this time in racing, the late 70's and 80's era. This is the time when turbochargers were widely introduced into vehicles, and big horsepower gains were made. Race cars of this era ranged from 700 to 1000 hp. Race cars were scary fast and dangerous. The Porsche 934 /935 were the kings of the class and dominated the field. Brumos was one of the most successful American teams to do it.
It takes teamwork to make the dream work!
Fun fact, the Brumos 935 Porsche turned laps in the late 70's at Laguna Seca, competing at the same venue where the biggest Cycling event in North America is held, Sea Otter.
We love racing at Crankbrothers, and it felt right to pay homage to a legendary American race team. It also aligns with the dedication it takes from the whole team to win.
Often, the Driver and the Car are praised for the win, but it's really a team effort. The pit crew, staff, and engineers are the unsung heroes. This aligns with NICA's efforts to encourage children to cycle and spend time outdoors, as well as promoting teamwork.
Crankbrothers is proud to support the effort, and we're all committed to getting youth on bikes. Each kid on a bicycle is the real winner! It takes teamwork to make the dream work!
NICA is an organization focused on getting more kids on bikes and outside at a time when screens are everywhere. NICA helps kids trade screen time for shred time. It’s about riding with friends, building confidence, finding community, and creating positive experiences that last way beyond the trail.
