Signature 4-sided Clip-in System

Signature 4-sided Clip-in System

At the core of the Mallet Enduro lies our signature 4-sided clip-in system, which rotates independently of the pedal body to allow for unhindered entry and exit. Its open design quickly sheds mud and debris from the system, allowing for predictable performance in even the most demanding conditions.
Chamfered Edges

Chamfered Edges

Each aluminum pedal body is carefully machined at the front lower corner to allow for improved trail clearance and allow rock strikes to deflect off the pedal.

FAQ - Clip-In Pedals

All Crankbrothers clip-in pedal systems contain two pedals (one left pedal, one right pedal), one pair of cleats with mounting hardware, and one Crankbrothers icon sticker.

Most Crankbrothers clip-in pedals come with our 6-degree float, Standard Release cleats. Our Candy 1, Eggbeater 1, and Double Shot 1 pedals come with our Easy Release cleats instead, with a smaller release angle required to unclip but still featuring 6 degrees of float.

Although closely related, float and release angle refer to separate characteristics of our cleats. "Float" is what we call the amount of rotational free play while clipped-in, whereas "Release Angle" refers to the angle of rotation of the cleat required to completely exit from the pedal, ie "unclip".

All standard bicycle pedal spindles are threaded specifically for either the left or right side of your bike, ours included - it's important to double check you're installing the correct pedal to the matching crank arm to avoid damage. A close inspection of the flange of the pedal spindle will indicate either Left side (with a grooved flange) or Right side (with a flat flange).

You'll need an 8mm hex wrench and bike grease for proper installation of your pedals - watch our tutorial here!

Maintenance schedules can vary greatly depending on riding conditions and mileage, but as a general rule of thumb, we recommend a seasonal re-grease of the internal components to keep things running smoothly. We also offer refresh kits with new bearings, seals, and hardware when a full overhaul is desired. Pro tip: Avoid using a pressure washer at close distances to clean your pedals, as water could get past the external seals and displace the grease your pedals need to spin freely.

No - SPD cleats won't work with our pedals.

Although we always recommend using Crankbrothers shoes featuring MATCH Technology for an optimized setup right out of the box, any MTB or Gravel shoes which feature a recessed two-hole cleat mounting box are compatible with our pedal system. With third-party footwear, it may be necessary to use additional shims or traction pads to fine-tune the shoe-to-pedal interface [pro tip: use our Cleat Tool to find your ideal shim setup]. In addition, you can even adapt a three-hole road shoe to be compatible with our Eggbeater or Candy pedals with the use of our adapter kit.

Solid feel, great looks

"There's no two ways around it, the crankbros pedals are the gold standard across dh and enduro for a reason. They look great and feel incredible. Maintenance is a must to keep them feeling good and the softer material cleats stops me from marking them a clean 5 stars."

I usually ride flat pedals,

"I usually ride flat pedals, but for those times when I do ride clipless, these are my choice. I prefer the extra bit of float that CB pedals give you over the locked in one position feeling of SPDs, and these are incredibly well built. They're actually kind of beautiful. The fact that these have some support other than the clip itself is nice for getting clipped back in, or when you want to unclip for a particular move. I have the pins at the front of the pedals screwed most of the way in since it makes it easier to clip and unclip, but even screwed pretty far in, the illegals still grip pretty well. Other than, the pedals are reasonably light for what they are while still being tough. I like that they provide great support underfoot and they were a cinch to get them dialed in with the CB mallet shoes I bought to go with them. They make a great combo. I haven't had any pedal strikes with them yet so they seem to have pretty good clearance. If you're going to go with clips, these would be my recommendation!"

Bought for the gravel bike.

"Bought for the gravel bike. Wanted a pedal that could work on quick trips/cruiser rides that I didn’t want to wear clip in shoes. Wide enough to work well for that. Oh yeah, they also work well as clip in pedals. Bought some CB clip shoes (mallet speed lace) as well- works good with the pedals."
