UCI XC World Champs: Kate Courtney brings home gold!

Give it everything you have, then give some more

With a hard-fought race and perfectly timed last lap pass, Kate Courtney was able to capture her first Elite World Championship in Lenzerheide. She achieved this incredible feat at just 22 years old, ending USA's 17-year gold medal drought at the event.

The Swiss crowds lined the fences in anticipation, creating an amphitheater for racing history to unfold.

In 2nd for much of the race, Kate made her move on the last lap..

Riding the technical sections better than anyone, she rode away!

When you realize you're going to win the biggest bike race in the world..

And a family's lifetime of effort pays off in just a few moments..

Kate raced to the win on our Eggbeater 11 pedals.

At just 179g per pair they are the lightest pedals in the world and are ready to race.

Congratulations Kate!
