the brand new 2026 dream bike
The livery of the bike pays homage to a renowned and successful Porsche race team called Brumos Racing. Brumos began as a car dealership in the late 1950s and was one of the first importers of Porsche in North America. The team ventured into racing in the mid-1960s, and by the 1970s, Brumos achieved significant success, winning prestigious endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The bike's design is inspired by the late 1970s and 1980s racing era, a time when turbochargers were widely introduced, leading to remarkable horsepower gains. Race cars from this period typically boasted power outputs ranging from 700 to 1,000 horsepower, making them incredibly fast and dangerous. The Porsche 934 and 935 models dominated their class and secured Brumos's reputation as one of the most successful American racing teams of that era.
It takes teamwork to make the dream work!
Fun fact: the Brumos 935 Porsche raced at Laguna Seca in the late 1970s, the same venue that hosts North America's biggest cycling event, the Sea Otter Classic.
At Crankbrothers, we have a passion for racing, and it felt fitting to pay homage to a legendary American race team. This sentiment reflects the dedication required from the entire team to achieve victory. While the driver and the car often receive the spotlight for their wins, it’s truly a team effort. The pit crew, staff, and engineers are the unsung heroes behind the scenes. This mirrors NICA's efforts to encourage children to cycle and spend time outdoors while also promoting teamwork. Crankbrothers is proud to support this initiative, and we are all committed to getting youth on bikes. Every child on a bicycle is a true winner! Remember, it takes teamwork to make the dream work!
NICA is an organization dedicated to getting more kids on bikes and outdoors. It's all about riding with friends, building confidence, finding a sense of community, and creating positive experiences that extend far beyond the trail.
