"If you like your shoes then protect the soles from the harsh forces between the cleat and the pedal with Shoe Shields. Sure the Eggbeater Pedals come with a plastic shield but the Shoe Shields does a much better job and helps keep your shoe/pedal system consistent."

I do not know why
"I do not know why it took me so long to 'discover' these. They are the ultimate shim as they hold the cleat in position better than the plastic spacers and provide better protection to the contact area of the shoe. I will be putting these on all my shoes hence forth."
