The Crankbrothers Mallet Trail Lace clip-in shoe is the perfect blend of performance and adventure. Engineered for thrill-seekers, the trail shoes were designed with rugged durability and adventure in mind to keep you confident on and off the trail and comfortable in the saddle for longer rides.

A synthetic upper features a classic lace-up closure system complete with lace pocket, perforations to provide airflow and breathability, and a TPU-reinforced toebox for enhanced protection. In addition, a fiber-reinforced shank and an aggressive outsole lug pattern bring pedaling efficiency and all-terrain versatility to every ride.

Our innovative Match System optimizes engagement for any MTB clip-in system, whether that’s Crankbrothers or SPD. It comes with Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position, so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box.

"Great beginner clip-in shoe. Bought these to try clip-ins for the first time and they've been great. They look like a normal street shoe, which I love, and have treated me well thus far. I wear a 10. 5 street shoe and was worried about the fit. I ended up sizing up to an 11 which ended up being perfect."

"These are nice shoes. Great quality, they look sweet, are very supportive and true to size. I am a 9. I ordered the 9. It fit like a 9. No funny business. I have a wide foot and this shoe is comfortable. I lace it a tad on the loose side due to having a wide foot. No issues. Once it breaks in a bit more I can probably lace a little tighter, but it's really no big deal. I ride trails and end up doing hike a bike at times in the mtns of Colorado. The tread is pretty grippy when having to hike and carry my bike. There is a lace pouch to tuck the laces in so they dont end up in your chain and you over the bars. The pouch is critical for lace up shoes. I run CB egg beater and mallet pedals. These shoes interface with both pedals easily. I would buy these again."

"The engagement to the pedal is great, quality construction, and a nice clean look. I love the idea of these shoes! Unfortunately, I’ve tried multiple sizes and different shoes and can’t quite find the right fit with CrankBrothers. I’m typically a 44 and in these 44s I find my toes are cramped. I tried the 44. 5 and I’m swimming in them. It seems like the toe box could be a little wider and there be a little more arch support."

Great shoes so far. Have

"Great shoes so far. Have only ridden 25 miles but am heading out on a 1600 mile tour next week. We’ll see how they do after that… Plenty of room in the toe box and stiff enough to distribute pressure along my whole foot delivering power and comfort so far. They mate perfectly with Crank Bros pedals (duh) and the fact that they come with cleats already installed is a bonus. They do run a little small so size up. I usually wear 7. 5-8 and I ordered 8-8. 5 and they fit…just. Overall, I have high hopes for these shoes. We’ll see how they hold up."
