How do I use my Crank Brothers pump?
Push the head onto your valve (presta or shrader). Twist the collar 1/4 turn towards the valve after you have pushed the head on. Twisting the collar after putting it on the valve does two things: it makes the air come out of the correct side (if it comes out of the wrong side then you need to twist it the other way) and it locks the head onto the valve. Begin pumping with the pump set to high volume (switch on end of shaft). If the resistance becomes too strong, set the pump to high pressure and continue (you will hear air leaving the pump in this mode. This is necessary to achieve the easier pumping action). To remove the pump head after pumping, twist the gray collar back 1/4 turn before pulling it off.

What is the voume per stroke of crankbrothers pumps?

High Volume Mode: 2.8 cubic Inches (46 cubic cm)
High Pressure Mode: 1.1 cubic Inches (18 cubic cm)
How tight do the seal caps need to be?
The caps that keep the rubber valve stem seal in place only need to be snug. It is normal for there to be a gap between the cap and the body. Over tightening will cause them to crack. They have nothing to do with locking the pump onto the valve stem.

Can I rebuild and service the pump?
Yes, crankbrothers pumps are very easy to service. Contact crankbrothers for warranty service or assistance.
Is this the only pump I need?
No, all crankbrother pumps are designed for emergency use on the trail/road. We highly recommend the use of a floor pump at home. You should check your tire pressure at least once a week.
